PROCEDURE:
- Top off fuel tank(s).
- Climb to 2000 MSL.
- Return to airport.
- Measure fuel required to top off tank(s) again. This is your fuel burn during takeoff, climb and landing.
- Repeat for 3000 MSL, 4000 MSL, etc.
Note: This test is best done at a non-towered airport with minimal traffic (to reduce time in the pattern).
