TEST: IAS Calibration
PROCEDURE:
  1. Climb to 2000 MSL (or nearest thousand foot increment above ground level).
  2. Slow to minimum controllable airspeed (MCA).
  3. Find a prominent landmark, and create a waypoint for it on a GPS.
  4. Fly south of the landmark for one minute, then turn to pass directly over the landmark.
  5. Upon crossing over the landmark, turn to a heading of 360 degrees and begin timing.
  6. As soon as your GPS indicates one mile from the landmark, create another GPS waypoint, and stop the stopwatch.
  7. Fly past the fix for one minute, then turn to pass directly over the fix.
  8. Upon crossing the one mile fix, fly a heading of 180 and start timing again.
  9. Upon crossing over the original landmark, stop timing.
  10. Add the two times, and divide by two. This will give you the average time to fly one mile (the average will negate the effects of wind).
  11. Speed = (Distance / Time), so your actual airspeed will be (1 mile / average time between fixes).
  12. Repeat for every ten MPH increment between MCA and Vne.
